Joined Because:
"Being from a small town I had never been around many gay/bi men. Although it was awkward for me initially, I loosened up and had some of the best times of my life as a pledge. I found my place in the group and saw the difference we were making in our own lives and the lives of each other. My pledge brothers became my family and I could not imagine being without them. "
What He likes Most:
"One of the most sincere and effective forms of activism is to challenge the status quo of an institution from the inside. Sigma Phi Beta has done this with the greek community at Arizona State. By having Sigma Phi Beta members elected to the executive board of Interfraternity Council and systematically outperforming traditional or "straight" fraternities in terms of organization and effectiveness, we have made ourselves a cherished and integral part of Arizona State's greek system. With continued perseverance our members will carry this spirit with them throughout their college and proffessional careers making continuous strides for GLBT equality. "
Favorite Fraternity Memory:
"Sigma Phi Beta's first philanthopy titled "So Fabulous". Not only did we raise a lot of money for a good cause, we established important connections with other greek organizations on campus and showed the world we can plan and execute a kick-ass event. Did I mention it was "fabulous"?"
