Sigma Phi Beta Alpha Chapter Info
The Alpha Chapter of Sigma Phi Beta (herein as Sigma Phi Beta) was officially chartered during the Fall of 2003 and is a voting member on ASU's Interfraternity Council (IFC). Sigma Phi Beta has been recognized by ASU's IFC for outstanding academic performance, and most recently won the Greek Life Award for Excellence in Community Service and Philanthropy (2005). For the 2005-2006 academic year, Sigma Phi Beta had the 5th highest average GPA (3.21) in all of ASU's Greek Life organizations and the 3rd highest in IFC.
Activities:
Sigma Phi Beta is dedicated to offering its members activities that build the strength of brotherhood. Brothers are proud to take part in events such as Arizona Central Pride and other GLBT Festivals around the area. In addition to this, brothers also participate in a variety of official and non-official fraternity events on a monthly basis to promote social and interpersonal growth between fraternity members.
Conferences:
Brothers have the opportunity to attend a variety of conferences throughout the year; the purpose of these conferences range from fraternity improvement to individual focus groups on a variety of subjects. Sigma Phi Beta brothers also participate in developmental, political, and leadership programs and events, as well as contributing to conferences provided by ASU's Greek community.
Travel:
Sigma Phi Beta also plans frequent trips designed to be of minimal cost to its members. The Fall and Spring Retreats are often the most highly anticipated events of the year!
Community Service:
Sigma Phi Beta is committed to making a positive difference in the local community. There are a variety of long-term and short-term community service projects that are completed throughout the year. These projects benefit charitable organizations such as local hospitals, environmental groups, and hospice centers - as well as teach participants the value of charity and goodwill.
